Blood pressure medication recalled
Those who have been taking blood pressure medicine found to contain potentially threatening impurities have been advised to contact their doctor to get a replacement.
“There is no acute health threat to patients, but we know from trials with animals that it can cause cancer,” says Doris Stenved, the chief physician at the Danish Medicines Agency, who estimates that some 1,200 Danes are currently taking the recalled medicines.
However, only few, possibly fewer than 10, Faroese patients are currently taking this medication, according to Elin Mouritsen of the Faroese National Pharmacy.
All patients taking the medication are currently being contacted.
