Nine GP vacancies announced
Heilsutrygd (the Public Health Insurance) has advertised nine vacancies for general practitioners to serve 16,000 citizens across the islands.
One vacancy is in the Norðoya district and one in the Fuglafjørður district.
Three positions are available in Tórshavn, one in the Miðlon clinic and one in the Frúutrøð clinic.
Suðuroy has two GP vacancies, one in Tvøroyri and the other in Vágur.
Skálafjørður also has two vacancies, one in the Runavík medical centre and the other will be based temporarily in Strendur. Once the Eysturoy-Tórshavn tunnel is complete, the Strendur-based GP will move into the medical centre in Runavík.
Heilsutrygd is aiming to fill these positions by 1 February. The application deadline is 7 December.
A public reception will take place in Klaksvík tomorrow to mark the retirement of Magnus Magnussen, who has served as a GP in the Norðoya medical district since 1995.
For more information about the vacancies, call Heilsutrygd on 614000.
