Football starts 9 May, handball season terminated
FSF, the Football Association, is planning to run a full 27-round premier league football from 9 May to 7 November, followed by a four-week cup tournament.
All games will be played without spectators until further notice, but camera crews will be allowed to attend.
FSF president Christian Andreasen says that the health authorities have approved the decision to go ahead with the football season, adding that all clubs have been issued guidelines from the authorities regarding training and match procedures.
The plan is also to start the men’s first division season on 9 May, and FSF is currently discussing when to start the women’s premier league season.
Handball season terminated
Meanwhile, the Handball Federation (HSF) announced yesterday that it is terminating the championships in all divisions.
Unlike in volleyball, no handball champions are declared this season.
HSF wrote on its website: after the authorities gave the go-ahead for team sports to resume on 9 May, HSF consulted with the health authorities on how to organise training and matches. After careful consideration, it was decided not to continue the remainder of the handball season.
Also cancelled due to the corona situation is the popular annual Flag Day Run, originally scheduled for 25 April.
