One set from victory
The Faroese team needed a 3-0 win over Iceland to secure overall gold in the Volleyball European Championships for small nations held in Tórshavn last week.
They came close but not close enough, as the Iceland team managed to claw back one set, making it a 3-1 win for the Faroese.
In the final two sets of the game, the Scottish fans were rooting for the Faroese team, as anything less than a 3-0 win for the Faroese or at least two set wins for Iceland would secure the title for the Scots.
In the end, the Faroes, Iceland and Scotland all finished on four points, but the Scots took the title having won more sets. Greenland finished last with no points.
This was the first international volleyball tournament hosted by the Faroe Islands in 30 years.
